'Without
science,' Osho says, 'the East has lost much; without
meditation the West has lost much. I am trying to bring together East
and West, because together they will create the whole.' Reading Osho on Zen is like a meditation in and unto itself. You will throw off the accumulated 'knowing' of a lifetime; let go of physical, mental, and emotional tensions; relax into the flow of an extraordinary discourse; and become silent. As you do this, you will be receptive to the present moment and the potential therein. Zen goes beyond Buddha and beyond Lao Tzu. It is a culmination. |

One Seed Makes the Whole Earth Green
'Zen is the seed, pregnant with infinite potential. The only true religion which has not put fetters on mankind.'Kyozan: A true Man of Zen
Kyozan was such a simple and ordinary man that, as his own master put it, if it was possible for him to become enlightened, than it is possible for anyone. These discourses - based on anecdotes about Kyozan’s life and on a selection of exquisite haikus - are filled with that
promise. Osho uses Kyozan’s life to make Zen as accessible to the contempory man.
Ancient Music in the Pines
A fascinating collection of talks on Zen stories.
In her introduction Shunyo says: '..to hear the ancient music, mind has to be put aside.' Osho starts off this discourse series to explain the mind, and then step by step points the way to let the mind pass... getting ready to hear the ancient music in the pines.
On no other subject Osho has talked more than on Zen. And a
most important part in all these talks have been the numerous jokes, laughter
bursting out and the gibberish meditation. Evening for evening Osho leads
10000 buddhas from cleansing out the dust into no mind.
‘At this moment you are the buddha.
Take care of the buddha twenty-four hours; cultivate the buddha twenty-four
hours. Not for a single moment forget to remember your buddhahood.
As your remembrance deepens, as your awareness becomes clear, as you dissolve
into your witnessing, the buddha spontaneously arises -- in your actions, in
your words, in your silences.
He becomes your whole life, and a life of great joy, a life of blessings, a life
which is pure poetry, essential music, an eternal dance.’
Can we celebrate the ten thousand buddhas? Yes, Beloved Master.
