Frequently asked Questions:

What is Meditation?

"That's what meditation is all about -- to become more alert. Live the same life, just change your alertness -- make it more intense. Eat the same food, walk the same path, live in the same house, be with the same woman and the children, but be totally different from your inside. Be alert! Walk the same path, but with awareness. If you become aware, suddenly the path is no more the same, because you are no more the same. If you are aware, the same food is not the same, because you are not the same, the same woman is not the same, because you are not the same. Everything changes with your inner change. If somebody changes his within, the without changes totally."
- Osho "Ancient Music in the Pines"

What Are Active Meditations?

The active meditations are invented by Osho to help modern man let go of some of the mental and physical tension that prevents us from simply sitting down and immediately being silent and peaceful. All Osho Active Meditations involve an initial stage of activity - sometimes intense and physical - followed by a period of silence. They are accompanied by specially-composed music to guide the meditator through the different stages of each meditation technique.

Do I Need to be Involved with Osho to come to Risk?

No. You can enjoy and benefit from your stay without knowing anything about Osho and without feeling any connection to him.

What is Sannyas?

Sannyas is a commitment to oneself. Taking sannyas is a recognition that the journey of self-discovery and self-inquiry has now become a priority in one’s life. When one takes sannyas, one accepts that each individual has his own path to follow, nobody else can do it for him, nobody can follow anybody else´s path to come home.
"Sannyas is simply an initiation into new spaces within you, a change from the head to the heart, from logic to love, from your ordinary conditioning to an unconditioned mind, to a freedom which you are not even aware that you are capable of."
